Social Security Disability benefits are awarded to those who are able to prove that a medical condition prevents them from working, and is expected to last for at least a year or result in death. In order to qualify for SSDI benefits, you must have worked – and paid into Social Security – long enough and recently enough to qualify.

SSDI benefits can also provide for the spouses and children of disabled workers.

The problem for many applicants is that the Social Security Administration uses very strict rules to determine if you qualify for benefits. Benefits are only paid to those that have a severe medical condition that limits their ability to do basic work activities, such as walking, sitting, and remembering. That condition must be expected to continue for at least one year or to result in death. Santelises Law will fight and work for you to ensure your rights are protected.
